Netgear fell 3.8%, despite reporting a rise in its revenue and earnings in the third quarter. The S&P 500 gained 0.5%, to settle at 3,453.5. The DJIA rose 0.5%, to settle at 28,363.7, while the NASDAQ added 0.2%, to close at 11,506.0. .
Currency The EUR is trading 0.17% lower against the USD at $1.1841, ahead of the Euro-zone consumer confidence index data October and German consumer confidence index data for November, due in a few hours. Additionally, investors await the US existing home sales data for September and weekly initial jobless claims data, slated to release later today. Meanwhile, the UK house price index advanced less than market forecast in August, while the nation’s retail price index rose less than expected in September .
