Moderna jumped 10.0%, after the drug maker announced that the first analysis of its phase 3 study showed that its experimental Covid-19 vaccine had an efficacy rate of almost 95%. Simon Property Group climbed 5.7%, after the company revised its purchase price to $43.0 per share to acquire 80% stake in rival mall operator, Taubman Centers. Uber Technologies advanced 3.4%, following reports that the company is in talks to sell its autonomous driving unit to start-up competitor Aurora Innovation. PNC Financial Services Group added 2.9%, after the company announced that it is buying the US unit of Spanish banking company, BVA, for a cash consideration of $11.6 billion. On the flipside, Casper Sleep plunged 13.6%, after the company’s third quarter revenue came in below analysts’ forecast. The S&P 500 gained 1.2%, to settle at 3,626.9. The DJIA rose 1.6%, to settle at 29,950.4, while the NASDAQ added 0.8%, to close at 11,924.1. .
